Graduation 2020!

The end of the school year is usually a busy time at Berrings Pre-School PlayGroup. There’s a lot to fit in - the Sports Day, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, the annual School Tour and finally for those moving on to “big school” in September, the very important Graduation Day.

This year the PlaySchool has six graduates who will be starting Primary School in Autumn. Sadly this year we were not able to have our annual cap and gown graduation, however we’d like to congratulate our six wonderful graduates and wish them the best of luck as they take the next step along their education journey. And don’t worry - we will host a graduation celebration in Autumn so our six will still receive their well earned PlaySchool Certificates!

Finally we would also like to take the opportunity to offer a massive thank you to all of the fantastic parents of Berrings PreSchool for their support through out the school year and during this shut down period. We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back in September, until then - have a great summer!

We are delighted to see that the at-home creativity is continuing with the fabulous selection of Father’s Day cards we’ve been sent pictures of - keep up the great work and feel free to send us pictures of the arts and crafts you’ve been working on at home!

Response to Covid-19

Like all schools at this time Berrings PreSchool PlayGroup has had to temporarily close its doors in line with Government Covid -19 response guidelines.

The PlayGroup would like to join the rest of the county in offering its thanks and appreciation to the healthcare and other frontline workers (including many PlayGroup parents) who are working so hard during this unprecedented time.

We would also like to remind everyone that though the school may be closed for now, learning never stops! Check out our “Stories” section to see the amazing Easter cards and artwork that some of the PlayGroup children have been making at home, and stay tuned for a new “Story” each week showcasing different PlayGroup activities.

We're hiring!

Berrings Pre-School Playgroup is looking to recruit an AIM Support Childcare Worker, three mornings per week on a fixed term contract.

Applications must have a Full Fetac/QQI 5 or higher and have a good understanding of children with additional needs and Aistear.

Berrings PreSchool Play Group would like to wish a Happy Father's Day to all awesome Dads and thank the Playschool Dads in particular for all of their help and support throughout the year.

Inniscarra Community Centre Playground

At Berrings PreSchool PlayGroup outdoor play forms an important part of our curriculum and we believe that the benefits speak for themselves. As the summer (finally!) approaches, what better way to improve local quality of life and well being, while promoting active fun and good mental health, than a new playground for the entire community to enjoy, at Inniscarra Community Centre. 

As both a fully engaged member of the community and a local child care professional, Sheila is delighted to be part of the Fundraising Committee for the Inniscarra Community Centre playground. Fundraising efforts are well underway and the playground is expected to open in June.
